Dear friend,
You have made the right decision to subscribe to our newsletter.
That says a lot about you and the kind of person you are. You want
to grow. You want to achieve uncommon success.
In this digital age, everyone is overwhelmed with information.
Our inbox is screaming for someone to empty it. Our minds are more
cluttered than ever. There's so much beckoning for our attention.
With just a few keystrokes in cyberspace, you can get lost for
hours. And it can really be addictive.
But the question I always ask is this: If information is so ubiquitous,
how come so many people are starving for information? How come
we have more problems and fewer solutions? How come people think
less and less?
The answer is simple. We are becoming
more and more unfocused as a people. And we seem to think that
this is a microwave world. We want everything now! But whatever
happened to the virtue of patience? Isn't it the way we grow
and mature? Aren’t there
lessons to be learned while we wait?
Another fallacy of today's society is that more is better. And
so, we want more knowledge, more money, and more resources in order
to take action. No!!!!!!!!!!! When it comes to personal and professional
success, more is definitely not the answer.
If it were, the person whose brain is jamming with information
would be successful beyond measure. I am sure you have met people
who seem to be so brilliant; they have done so much yet they are
struggling. Don't you wonder why?
If anything, I think more is the problem in our society. Think
of it this way, more cars cause traffic jams, more foods are poisoning
our bodies and causing us to gain unwanted weight, more knowledge
confuses us.
In my humble opinion, I think if you want to achieve massive
success, you need to drain the brain. That's right! Flush it! Get
rid of the excess knowledge that is confusing and distracting you.
Really. It's time to streamline your knowledge.
Here's how to get what you want faster...
1- Go back to the basics. Remember how much enthusiasm and excitement
you had when you first started working for your company? That's
basic. How about the things you used to do that were working so
well for you? Chances are they are basic, too.
2- Write down 10 things that are critical to your success. I
know there are probably 20,000 things you can do to be successful.
That's why what works for everyone may not work for you. Some things
may fit someone else's personality but not your own. The key is
to narrow down your choices to 10 things. Then...
3- Be redundant. Most people give the word redundant a negative
connotation. Well, if it is actually a good thing as it relates
to success. The moment you find out the 10 things that fit your
personality and that are working for you, surf the wave until you
get there.
Success does not favor a jack-of-all-trades
and master-of-none. You have to take the same specific steps
over and over. Contrary to what others may say, redundancy does
not stifle your creativity. You see, you can spend 20 years looking
at a landscape and discover something different and exciting
about it every time—that's
creativity.
4- Take massive action. Focus, focus, focus and focus. Again,
distractions are everywhere. They are at work, within your family
and your friends. Here are a few sources of distraction: Television,
radio, the internet, outdoor advertising, magazines, newspapers,
movies, shopping malls and whatever else you can think of.
My point is you have to be selective and learn to tune out what
is not helping you get what you want. Although I agree that we
need entertainment. But we also need money to pay for the entertainment.
Do you want to spend your life being entertained and starving at
the same time? Well, it's your choice.
5- Beg someone to mentor you and show you where they have been.
Now I wish I could surgically implement this thought into your
brain. You see, most of us are not successful because we don't
know what to do. It's like going on a journey into the far distance
but you don't have a map and no one told how to get there. How
long do you think it would take you to get there?
In my book Kick Your Excuses Goodbye, I give you a step-by-step
approach on how to find and work with a mentor. Every time I speak
on a platform, I encourage my audience members to find a mentor.
Please, please start thinking of a person who could possibly mentor
you.
Again, all this may sound too simplistic. The mind tends to seek
complicated stuff. Don't yield. Instead, take the five tips above
and really think about them. Oh, did I say think? Yes, think. Let
those tips guide you. Develop your philosophy around them and you
will achieve astounding success.
Go for it,
